Tangent Awarded PIPELINE Program Dual-Training Grant in Minnesota
In 2015, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton signed into law the Dual Training Grants legislation. The program was created to give employees an opportunity to learn, all while helping businesses meet workforce needs. It is administered by The Minnesota Office of Higher Education, in collaboration with the Minnesota PIPELINE Program at the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The sixth round for this grant has just been awarded to forty-one Minnesota companies, including Tangent’s Minnesota factory.
Tangent was awarded the funding because of high-growth and a reputation for being a high-quality company in the advanced manufacturing industry. This program includes a shared $2.1 million in grant funding to begin employment-based dual-training. With this funding, Tangent will have the opportunity to help employees grow professionally, advance their careers and learn new skills. It will also help Tangent continue to provide opportunities that cultivate success and allow employees to thrive.
“Tangent is honored to be awarded this state grant along with the 41 other Minnesota companies. This opportunity not only allows us to customize training based on the needs of the Company, but also gives us the ability to assist in further developing and enhancing our employee’s skill sets to prepare them for additional career advancement opportunities.” – Julie Timmerman, Human Resources Manager at Tangent
