The Tangent Product Journey
Tangent recycles HDPE plastic like milk jugs and laundry detergent bottles to manufacture our finished product. Our customers can trust that when they invest in our boards, they can rely on a solid foundation to create their finished products. Our boards are extremely durable, long-lasting, and will hold up in any type of harsh weather.
Tangent grinds the recycled material into small pieces called flake, which can be utilized to manufacture plastic lumber. We take the small pieces of flake and combine them with a small amount of additives and colorant to ensure a long-lasting and durable product.
This mixture goes through our proprietary mold-forming manufacturing process, creating a strong, structural and long-lasting product that can be used in a myriad of applications, like park benches, horse stalls or fencing.
Additional materials like UV stabilizers and strengtheners (like fiberglass strand) are added during each process so the end-product contains consistent color and texture throughout the entire length of the plastic lumber.
Since the product is made of HDPE, it is resistant to moisture, won’t degrade or rot, doesn’t hold bacteria and is easy to clean, making it a great building solution. Available in a variety of colors and profile sizes, Bedford offers an unbeatable selection of recycled plastic wood products to choose from. Tangent provides solutions, not band-aids.
Tangent proudly stands behind our green philosophy in providing environmentally-friendly, recycled structural plastic lumber products. Our products are non-polluting and won’t leach harmful chemicals into the environment. With eight product lines to pick from to suit your specific project needs and green building requirements, choosing environmentally-friendly building material has never been easier!
